Founder Iwalewa Gallery of Art

Mr. Femi Williams

Mr. Femi Williams is an accomplished artist, dealer and visionary gallery owner. His artistic journey took an intriguing turn during his years as a student artist from where he delved into the path of art dealership. While studying painting at the Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Femi’s profound passion for art led him to connect with his peers and fellow art students to acquire their artworks.

This distinctive experience did not only grant him valuable insights into the dynamics of art marketing but also enabled him to support and engage emerging artists. It was during this period that he honed his discerning eye for artistic talent and cultivated a keen understanding of artistic representation.

Femi completed his higher education at the Federal Polytechnic Auchi, graduating with distinction in Painting. This educational foundation not only enriched his artistic skills, but also deepened his appreciation for diverse artistic techniques and concepts.

Driven by his passion for art business, Femi went on to establish the Iwalewa Gallery of Art in 2016, located in the highbrow area of Lekki in Lagos. This visionary initiative not only showcases Femi’s own creations, but also serves as a platform for fellow artists to exhibit their works. The gallery provides a space for artistic dialogue and cultural exchange, nurturing connections within the art community.

Femi’s artistic journey, marked by his roles as an artist, dealer, and gallerist, underscores his commitment to personal artistic growth and the promotion of emerging talents. His unique path serves as an inspiring testament to the diverse avenues through which individuals can contribute to and shape the art community.
