A solitary figure leans into textured stillness, rendered in earthy tones and impasto strokes. Blended into its surroundings, the form radiates quiet introspection, where posture and pigment speak without words.
Rom is a contemporary conceptual artist from Asaba, Delta state with an MFA from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London. He has exhibited widely in Nigeria and all over the world.
Rom's aim is to tell stories that are universal to the human experience with a stylistic coloration that is decidedly contemporary.
His compositions often evoke contemplation and engender dialogue about identity and culture, failures and insecurities, less and excess, loneliness, rapture and gaiety, and other emotional 'gestures' within our contemporary commune.
