Typical of Uyovbisere’s work, is the application of paint in a rhythmic manner, clearly defining a highly individual expression. He has since become well known for his studies of the female form, and paintings of the durbar. Carefully nuanced, his figures fix their viewer with a steady unabashed gaze. Uyovbisere is an accomplished artist and has received numerous awards such as the Distinguished Artists Award from the Delta Government (2006) and The Most Dedicated Programme Director at the Ovie Brume Foundation (2008).
Abraham Uyovbisere lives and works in Lagos. His works can be found in several significant collections in Nigeria and abroad including the National Collection and The State House, Abuja.
